Brand owner and consulting strategist, Angélique Raina distils her curiosity progressively into multiple aspects of brand making and into a brand. Her journey began with marketing strategy and public relations, leading her through brand strategy via creative direction, design, visual and copywriting. This trajectory continued into management roles and culminated in the founding of her contemporary wear label, Acquire. All this enables Raina to operate at the delicate cross-section between creativity and commerce. Through the label, Raina aims to expand the possibilities of fit—through different textures including smocking, ruching and more–in statement-worthy womenswear separates.
Alongside Acquire, Raina has been at the helm of Intuition + Strategy, a brand consultancy firm for over 13 years, Raina has crafted compelling narratives for brands spanning diverse sectors like fashion, beauty, lifestyle, hospitality, home decor, and art. Their work includes crafting brand strategies for renowned figures like Tarun Tahiliani Homes, fast-growing bridal couture brands like Mishru, emerging talent such as Parampara Jaipur and Oshin, direct-to-consumer brands like Re’equil, The Decor Remedy, Elume, Jungly Delights and Suite No. 8. This work also encompasses visually stunning experiences and shows for fashion brands like Shanti Banaras, Rimzim Dadu and jewelry brands like Vandals by Mahesh Notandass.
Raina’s approach to her work is meticulous, delving deeply into the fundamentals of the clients she consults with. Her consultancy analyzes their foundation layer by layer, identifying key differentiators, and adeptly transforming gaps and challenges into opportunities and distinctions. Although their approach is sector agnostic, backed by ethnographic and rigorous research, this understanding was not built in education or through training in a classroom, but rather synthesised and refined through practical, professional and innovative workshopped experiences. Backed with an intuitive eye, this uniqueness is defined by the name, Intuition + Strategy.
The creative entrepreneur began working in the Indian fashion industry at 16 and has since manoeuvred different aspects of brand management from product design, brand development and branding, to marketing, and public relations allowing to refine a multi-hyphenated and holistic approach to being and working with brands.
