When one ventures away from the euphoric beach parties of Goa’s Anjuna, a host of posh hotels and fine-dining restaurants emerge in its meandering lanes–one of which is home to Verandah. Tucked in a 19th-century Indo-Portuguese villa, the store poses as an ideal halt to pick up beach-friendly and travel-appropriate ensembles. Unlike the mainstream resort wear commonly found in Goa's nooks and crannies, Verandah stands out with designer and luxurious versions that are AM-PM friendly. One glance at the white walls and furnishings reveals Verandah's strong emphasis on their signature collections. While it is easy to get swayed away with the warmth of lofty wooden trusses and grey terrazzo flooring–quintessential to Porto homes—Verandah’s boho-luxe, sustainable, fuss-free, and vibrant travel separates, swimwear, kimonos, and accessories are equally irresistible. Founded by former-banker-turned-designer Anjali Patel Mehta who remodeled the store herself, Verandah is a true reflection of her love for Goa and its beaches. High up on the walls, framed memoirs are a logbook of Anjali’s past and recent campaigns alongside Picasso’s and Dora Maar’s works. The store also shares its adjacent with the destination dining experience of Mahé restaurant, inviting a perfect moment to indulge in Goa’s famed susegaad.
