A favourite amongst celebrities and industry insiders alike, Saaksha & Kinni has continuously been touted for a maximalist approach to their designs. The label boldly captures the essence of Indian crafts with digital prints and embroidery works presented in a vivid colour palette - evident in several of its collections, including 'Quad.' The range marries traditional Indian patchworks, tassels, and mirror work with denim, and combines other traditional Indian textiles with bold digital prints. Another notable collection is ‘Pixel,’ where digital pixel prints closely mimic the appearance of Ikat weaves. However, a hallmark of Saaksha & Kinni’s designs is their micro-pleating technique that spans the collections. The delicate and precise pleating not only enhances the visual appeal of the garments but also introduces a dynamic flow and movement, making each piece a seamless fit on the body.

Founded by sisters-in-law Saaksha Bhat and Kinnari Kamat in 2016, the eponymous label is known for spotlighting Indian prints and techniques on silhouettes that flow and yet contour effortlessly on different body types. Hailing from starkly varied backgrounds, Saaksha - a former lawyer and Kinnari - a design graduate who has worked with international fashion houses, the duo came together with a vision to create impactful and comfortable occasion wear.

What sets Saaksha & Kinni apart is how the label has been able to emanate an international, boho-luxe spirit while also incorporating traditional India in several renditions- abstract but not overtly detached, recognisable but not too conventional. Taking Indian crafts from their traditional context, Saaksha & Kinni serve ikat, bandhani, leheriya, paisley, and block prints with modern cuts and stylised Western silhouettes. Their range of draped dresses, skirts, bustiers, coordinated sets, and more come with signature elements that are both trendsetting and timeless.

Versatility and innovation have always been the driving forces behind Saaksha & Kinni. Initially focused on womenswear, the brand has since expanded its horizons into menswear and amplified its resort wear collection. Their recently launched swimwear line showcases a vibrant array of colour-blocked bikini sets, swimsuits, and sarong-like skirts adorned with their signature prints, further exemplifying their creative flair. This commitment is also mirrored in their global presence. While Saaksha & Kinni enjoy significant popularity among fashion enthusiasts in India, their influence transcends borders. The label has made its mark internationally, retailing through boutique stores located in prominent fashion destinations such as New York, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Bangkok.
