Celebrating with our digital community in real time through panel talks & a curated pop up,
at the Soho House Mumbai.
Following our editorial success, Blur The Border brought our digital community together in a physical space for the first time at Soho House, Mumbai. The two-day event transforming different corners of the venue – was aimed at spotlighting and celebrating homegrown labels that we have featured and discovered during our journey.
In the wake of fostering meaningful experiences and building a community, our pop-up hosted over 42 brands, each catering to the different aspects of a holistic lifestyle - from eco-friendly apparel, unique jewellery, and keepsake accessories to quirky home decor, beauty and self-care essentials. The curated selections aimed to transcend boundaries between genders and generations, creating a space where everyone could find something that resonated with them.
Later in the evening–on both days–a dynamic crowd ranging from fashion enthusiasts, and venue members to visitors from outside the country, gathered on the 8th floor for a more profound engagement. We hosted panel talks that ran parallel to our theme of discovery and championing homegrown labels on our editorial platform. Alongside a warm and welcoming setting, the evening stirred insightful dialogues among renowned and upcoming professionals in the industry.
The first panel delved into the future of homegrown labels, offering insights from different perspectives within the fashion industry. The discussion featured Styles Curator & Designer Amrita Thakur, Creative Consultant Aparna Badlani, Brand Owner & Consultant Angélique Raina and Head of Digital at Yellow Neharika Manjani. Moderated by Fashion Stylist & creative director Surbhi Shukla, the talk explored several key aspects, including the criteria and challenges of decoding a market like India, the importance of consumer education in valuing India’s heritage amidst the dominance of Western aesthetics, the importance of tapping into digital content and more.
Meanwhile, the second panel brought together a dynamic roster of artists and innovators from different professions, discussing the common thread that united their fields. Chef and Culinary Director at Bastian Suvir Saran, Fashion, Culture and Lifestyle Photographer Sahil Behal and Graphic Designer and Co-Founder of November Shiva Nallaperumal shared insights into their creative process, journey, the evolution of art and its perceptions across different mediums.
As we concluded the event successfully, Blur The Border looks forward to fostering a strong community and hosting more events that celebrate the emerging landscape of Indian homegrown labels.
